The fee for renewal of the Measurement Certifi-

-cate in case of loss or defacement is $0.50 but if wilfully damaged or lost $5.00 is charged.

A Trading Junk Licences which gives name of

Junk, Owner's and Master's names with residences, number of

crew, armament, and conditions of licence, but no measurement

particulars

- is valid for one year (for fee levied, see comparative Table of Fees given on sheet No./5 of this Report).

The number is not branded but is painted on hull.

An Unlicensed Junk in possession of a Measurement

Certificate may take out a Trading Lunk Licence for its

convenience and retain the Heasurement Sertificate: this expl-

explains how a Junk may be marked with tw? different numbers

It sometimes happens that a Junk, for want of funds, is unable

to renew its Trading Junk Licence on the due date. In such a case

a Measurement Certificate is procuded and a Port Clearance

taken out for that trip by paying the necessary fees. The

Trading Junk Licence Number is not erased and the Trading

Licence may be renewed when convenient. This if far from a

satisfactory arrangement.
